I asked Vic to see if it would be possible to have him come on a weekend instead and he heard back from them right away that Saturday, May 5th, might be possible. (He's in the Bay Area the weekend of April 28-29 and then has to go up to Washington and Oregon, but can possibly come here the 5th). If we want to try to put on a "4th Annual" foothill event in North Fork it would need to be on a Saturday, since I doubt people would come there from Fresno on a weekday night. I'm checking with NF Town Hall to see if the 5th is available. Alternatively we could try to do it in Fresno on the 1st or 2nd at the Unitarian Church, a Union Hall, or some other smaller venue. If you have any suggestions, please respond, otherwise I'll make a recommendation to Vic on which to pursue based on whether NF Town Hall is available. [I've checked the Community Alliance calendar and there doesn't appear to be any already planned event for any of those days.] From skern at sti.net Wed Mar 14 08:20:49 2007 From: skern at sti.net (Sue Kern) Date: Wed, 14 Mar 2007 09:20:49 -0700 Subject: [FFCF-Fundraising] NF Town Hall Message-ID: <380-220073314162049473@sti.net> North Fork Town Hall has been tentatively confirmed for Saturday, May 5th. Vic, please let me know as soon as possible if Jeremy Scahill can be confirmed for that date as well. Thanks From skern at sti.net Tue Mar 27 11:34:35 2007 From: skern at sti.net (Sue Kern) Date: Tue, 27 Mar 2007 12:34:35 -0700 Subject: [FFCF-Fundraising] Jeremy Scahill materials Message-ID: <380-220073227193435737@sti.net> Attached is a flyer I drafted for the 5/5/07 event. I'm still working on a musician, but Chris Velez says that Waddama is getting back together and may be willing to play for this event. I'll keep you posted. I'm also enclosing a draft letter to go out to foothill subscribers and supporters. I'm proposing charging $8 in advance and $10 at the door, with the soup dinner available for an additional $5. If anyone has any objections to that please let me know. I'm going to be talking to Leni about helping me with the dinner. I was thinking this time we'd just do one soup (lentil) and not try to do the chicken soup Berry Nishkian usually works on. I'll also try to get baguettes from Patrick and Hansel can hopefully provide the salad, with Willey Farms kicking in carrots and celery if they have it. Let me know if any of you have any objections or different suggestions. If we want to sell beer and wine again, we'll need an ABC permit. Vic can you get that, and I'll have one of the Booster people sign it? -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
